Dr. Pierre Peeters – CEO/COO
A seasoned clinical pharmacologist with 35+ years in early drug development, Pierre brings deep expertise in clinical trial design and execution. Known for his strategic insight and collaborative leadership, he has led hundreds of early-phase studies and dozens of clinical development plans across various indications. Before joining CURARE, he held senior roles at CHDR, Organon/Merck, and Pharma Bio-Research (now ICON). Pierre holds a PhD in Biopharmaceutics and is a registered Clinical Pharmacologist since 1998.
Robert Polano – CFO/Business Development
With a background in corporate finance and innovation, Robert blends strategic and financial leadership with entrepreneurial experience. He has held roles at Wolters Kluwer, Philips, and CDI Global, and co-founded Carduso Capital, an early-stage life sciences fund. He holds an MBA from the University of Groningen.

Prof. Dr. Erik Frijlink – Pharmaceutical Technology & Biopharmacy
A global expert in drug delivery, Erik is professor at the University of Groningen and former head of Pharmaceutical Development at Solvay. He has authored 300+ scientific papers, holds 22 patents, and co-invented the Novolizer® and Genuair® inhalers—used by over 300,000 patients worldwide.
Prof. Dr. Harry van Goor – Experimental Nephropathology
An authority on oxidative stress and gasotransmitters in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, Harry served as president of the International Sociaty of Antioxidants, Nutricion and Health and holds a strong European profile through his participation in the Management Committee of two cost actions. He became Full Professor in 2009 and leads pioneering research in various inflammatory conditions.
Dr. Udo Mulder – Vascular Medicine
Head of Vascular Medicine at UMC Groningen, Udo is a leading expert in vascular immunology, particularly in autoimmune-related cardiovascular diseases. He is a key figure in Raynaud’s research and chairs the national Systemic Sclerosis working group and Dutch guideline committee on Raynaud’s syndrome.
